Antenatal Check Up

Im currently waiting for my turn to see d obstetrician for my antenatal check up. Since im bored and not to mention, ANGRY, i decided to blog. I seriously find it vvvvveeerrryyyy rude not to offer seats to pregnant ladies esp those guys who r sitting. This is my 7th check up here, and still i can see men sitting while heavily pregnant ladies are standing, haihh malaysians... ! This well-known private hospital in Seremban, ( not many choices pun of private hospital here) pun should provide more seats or at least put a sign to prioritize the pregnant ladies.

Anyway, i still remember last 2 check ups,while waiting for my ATT injection, i asked this one guy, politely for a seat, since there was an empty seat where he put his bag pack. And guess what, he pretended like i wasn't there. Not even a reply or a smile, just a blank stare. Maybe he didn't understand English. i assume. but well, its kinda obvious when i pointed out the seat!
Luckily Mr wasn't there at that particular time, kalau tak, mmg drama la! :)


By the way, remember i said something about going to private and government clinic.

My humble honest opinion is i prefer government clinic much much better. I did check up at private with my first pregnancy in KL and this pregnancy in Seremban. And this time, im doing my check up at my own gov health clinic as well ( maybe there's a bias here since i am a staff, and i dont have to wait at the waiting area, since i have my own office to do my work while waiting :) )

But that doesn't change the fact about the check up that they do in general. Where the midwives will check you from head to toe!! Everytime pergi check mcm segan la.. they check kaki la.. perut la.. check semua la! Baby heart beat and position is a must la kan... using doppler set and ukur2 manual :) Then with other routine check ups which include blood test, urine test, dental check up! The counseling and talks that they give. One whole complete set! ( maybe lame sikit la nk tunggu... ) but its for your own well-being! And I can assure you the cleanliness and the sterility of the instruments/bekas used is assured. takde gune2 balik ke ape. Sekali bukak terus buang.

Compared to the private, where i noticed that they are using the same bekas again and again ( sharing too!) well to reduce cost is one of the factor. so understood la.But still, err.. need not to elaborate on that more.

But the reason that im going to the private , is because im planning to deliver there ( for the comfort purpose :), insya Allah) as well as the doc, the obstetrician. I want a lady doctor, and Alhamdulillah, my dr now is a Muslim lady doctor and she is the consultant for one of the baby magazine. So far, she's ok.. very lembut and menenangkan :) . ( cant say much yet since i havent delivered yet!) But from all the check ups, she mmg really nice la!! Cos i was doctor-shopping before i found her ;) And another advantage of private check up is of course, the 3D and 4D scan. But the waiting time... haihhh...kalah government clinic ok!

But i would say, if you cud go to both, you SHOULD! Make time for the government clinic or hospital check up. ( not sure about hospital though but shud be the same!) With your blood test done routinely, you'd know about your haemoglobin level and other levels. In private, they only do urine test. I think jarang kot blood test. ( see,,, how much the government spend for us. tak masuk lagi ubat ye puan-puan.. check up tu , all the brg2.. i know the price since i m the one who did the order for the clinic too..tak murah ok! )

i have no political interest in whichever party..im not into politic pun. But im just saying from what i observe. i work in the health sector and i must say, goverment bykkkk sgt tolong rakyat in terms of the health care ok. In developed countries, they subsidise ,they dont give medicine for free and the subsidize pun based on their income. Unlike us in Malaysia, tak kesah berapa byk income or takde income pun, the treatment and medicine are FREE! well bayar singgit je! so i consider that free la! compared to the real cost of treatment and drugs. so please dont complain much. eh takde kaitan. but i get very stressed and tired of all the complaints!! you can afford to go overseas selalu to visit your children who are living there, but you dont want to buy vitamin supplements! and insist us to supply to you! i get a LOT of patients mcm ni ok.

well back to the point, do your antenatal check up at both private and clinic if you could. If not, government alone pun dah enough. I get to 'meet' my baby every month ( now every 2 weeks) at both private and gov clinic. Its just the ultrasound machine kat government tak secanggih private la. But well, if you just wanna know whether your baby is doing fine and healthy, gov scan machine will do. The canggih2 machine kalau nak tau in detail and of course, the face etc.
Here's my both check-up cards put together in FashionValet 'bag'. I was looking for a small folder to put all the records and this is handy. it fits nicely :) It is advisable to bring these records anywhere you go , in case if anything happen to you. so ill just chuck everything in this folder :)
