Mama's Labor Story

Dear Mariya,

It was Friday, 8th of April, i was still at work but i felt slight cramps ( I had no idea that u were coming the day after :) ) Your ob in Columbia Hospital, Dr Intan was overseas and will be back on the 16th.( i was really hoping she'd be the one to deliver you but i guess we plan, Allah decide kan) Your LMP due date was supposed to be on 11 April, but your scan date was on the 8.4.2011. I was supposed to come back to the hospital on Monday, 11 April for the check up. And if tak kluar jugak, you will be induced on the 16th by Dr Intan.

As Mama works in a gov health clinic, its easy for me to do check up whenever i want. i had some pains so i went straight to the maternity clinic to get check up by the dr and the midwives. I was concerned since your head hasnt engaged. So on that particular day, i requested SN Liza ( i guess you will see this nurse often, whom im quite close too) to check whether your head has engaged or not. Alhamdulillah, it has. At 39 weeks plus! Normally sayang, baby's head engage at 37 weeks ye. But i was told, it will take time to come out, at least 3-4 days MINIMUM!

So i decided to go back to KL that weekend. Papa picked me up from work, and headed straight to KL.( No, we didnt go back to our hs in Seremban so mama tak sempat kemas2 properly d hs as if nak tinggal for 3 months!) cos i was really confident that u wont come out that weekend! I had cravings for Subway, so off we went to Bangsar. It was raining, and we missed the Subway shop at Bangsar. So we just jalan2 at Bangsar Village. I did last minute shopping for you in Mothercare while Papa was at Panwest, looking for golf stuff. ( it was just next to each other!) While walking, i felt a lil bit pain. like period pain. But it wasnt that painful. So i thought it was just like warning. you will come out in few days time.

And that night, i was sleeping at Mak Tok and Tok Ayah's place in KL. I was having the pain but i didnt tell anyone. Cos i feel like it wasnt really painful, it was more like.. period cramps :)

at around 5 am : suddenly i feel like a splash of water coming out from my body.

i woke papa up and Mak Tok was already awake.

I told them, my water has broken.

Papa was so excited and get dressed.

But i wasnt sure whether it was THE water or other kind of water.

I decided to wait after Subuh before heading to Seremban! ( mind you from KL)
On my mind, i was like,, should i just go to HKL or to the Columbia Hospital where you do your routine check up. But dr Intan wasnt around!

Then, the water came out again.

So after Subuh, we sped , well Papa sped to Columbia Hospital

and there, around 7, the water came out again. and i was already in the labour room.
But I noticed something different.. the color.

something was telling me, something;s not right.

I was so worried. After all the check up ( oh, i didnt realise i dah terbukak 4 cm ok!) I didnt know that the cramp pain tu, is actually labor pain! ( silly me!) the dr, said, you had poo-poo. :(

its ok baby... Mummy understand, you cannot hold it any longer. and thank you for making it such an eassssyyy way for me :)  no long hours of labor pain :) ( again though i really want natural birth for you, but we plan and Allah decide)

the Dr advised us to do caesarean since she was afraid you might swallow the poo-poo and that could distress you.

i want to have you save and sound so we decided to have the operation..
So i went to the OT around 8.30

and at 9.18 am, there,, you were born..

i still remember your first sweet beautiful face came out from tummy,,Masya Allah..
, i kissed you and say Thank to Allah.


it was definitely one of my best moments in life for mama and papa :)

we love you very much and we hope and pray you will be a good daughter, a good muslimah and be the best in everything you do!
